IKEA Australia’s Zero Emissions Delivery Lead Alexandra Kelly will share the home furnishings retailer’s journey to zero emissions delivery at TruckShowX.

For the past two years Kelly has spearheaded the company’s impressive decarbonisation ambitions in Australia, under a goal of zero-emissions truck deliveries for customers (net zero emissions in its delivery operations) by 2025.

“By 2025, our ambition is 100 per cent zero emission truck deliveries for our customers. We believe that leading the transformation to a zero-emissions future is the responsible thing to do, and makes good business sense.

“That’s why in 2019, IKEA became the first home furnishing retailer in Australia to implement electric vehicles for home deliveries.

“Since then, we have worked with our delivery partners including ANC Delivers, Kings Transport and All Purpose Transport to implement home deliveries with electric vehicles across Australia.”

Adam Ritzinger, Chief Technical Officer at HVIA and TruckShowX Program Manager, says that from the outset a driving goal of the show has been to provide a technical program featuring a series of case studies that explore the projects, people and technology being implemented to decarbonise freight in Australia.

Kelly joins an incredible line-up of more than 40 speakers discussing over a dozen case studies covering battery electric fleets, hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen fuel production and transport, electrification and charging, workforce/skills, powered trailers, and telematics technology. “The HVIA team is very pleased to have been able to secure such an impressive line-up of speakers for the inaugural TruckShowX,” Ritzinger says.

“Through these speakers and sessions, we will be able to go far further than any previous transport decarbonisation discussions and give attendees the benefit of learning from what the early adopters have discovered.

“Alexandra joins an incredible line-up of speakers for TruckShowX that have already been announced, and will continue in the weeks leading up to the event. Tickets are selling fast, however, so we encourage everyone to get in early to avoid missing out.”

A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.

To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, it will explore low and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.

The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.
