HVIA signs key strategic partnership with Australia’s National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) for Australia’s biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event, TruckShowX 2024
Shortly after announcing TruckShowX for 2024, HVIA has signed on Australia’s National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) as the official research partner for the landmark event.
A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.
To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, it will explore low and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.
TruckShowX will also provide attendees the opportunity to experience that technology first-hand via a dedicated expo showcasing the latest LZEV vehicles and related products and services as well as on-road driving experiences.
“Having the NTRO as our research partner for the first TruckShowX conference is an amazing fit,” HVIA’s Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager Adam Ritzinger says.
“The NTRO is dedicated to the future of movement, which aligns perfectly with the low- and zero-emissions theme for 2024.”
The NTRO is built on more than 60 years of research experience, and serves Australia as the central hub of transport research, policy and project work across road, rail, ports and airports.
Its 240 staff across Australia work to develop new knowledge, innovation, standards and specifications that shape Australia’s transport future.
“The NTRO has been the trusted advisor for Australia’s road managers for more than 60 years, but no one understands the industry and the challenges it faces better than those working at the coal face,” says Renata Berglas, NRTO’s National Strategic Workgroup Leader, Mobility Futures.
“The NTRO-HVIA partnership connects the research and the science with industry know-how, and this is what we think is required to bridge the gap between where we are today and what we need for a sustainable transport industry.
“The NTRO is looking forward to shaping our transport future with the HVIA and its members at TruckShowX.
“Energy transition and meeting net-zero ambitions requires new ways of operating and considering energy use in freight and logistics.
“In addition to the introduction of new vehicle technology we need to build the infrastructure for tomorrows transport needs, based on understanding how the industry operates, solid data and an open vision for productive, viable, low-emissions freight transport.”
