VE Motion is set to unveil its innovative powered trailer concepts at TruckShowX, Australia’s largest-ever transport decarbonisation event.

Founded in 2019, the company encompasses the brands Arends Trailers, which specialise in light-weight aluminium semi-trailer design and manufacturing, alongside Vibe Energy, which focuses on grid-connected generation assets owned and developed by the group.

At TruckShowX, VE Motion will exhibit and present its unique hybrid solutions for heavy transport including parallel hybrid drive prime movers and powered e-trailer systems.

VE Motion Technical Director, Stephen Bussenschutt, will present these exciting developments in the ‘Trailers of Tomorrow’ technical session on day two of TruckShowX.

Bussenschutt’s 35 years in the power and heavy industrial sectors brings a unique experience in large electric drive haul trucks, electric wheeled loaders, diesel electric blast hole drills and electric rope shovels and draglines.

This skillset has allowed him to understand the effects of heat, dust, vibration, and high load environments have on electrically powered equipment and power electronics to design and implement both VE Motion’s hybrid drive and powered e-trailer systems.

Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager, says powered trailer concepts are incredibly novel and have emerged organically from within HVIA’s member base.

“Stephen and VE Motion join an exciting line up of speakers and companies working in this space, including Move EV, SAF-Holland and Dana,” he says.

“These developments are a testament to the application of ingenuity, engineering and design expertise that exists right here in Australia, and we’re very pleased to feature them front-and-centre at TruckShowX.”

A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.

To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, it will explore low and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.

The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs. Click here for the full TruckShowX program.
