Foton Mobility Distribution, the distributor of Foton new-energy truck products in Australia, will offer an exciting range of battery-electric trucks as part of TruckShowX’s ‘Drive Day’ program.

General Manager of Light Vehicles, Bill Gillespie, will also feature in the conference technical program to present case studies on the local implementation of Foton vehicles into Australian fleets.

“There are incredible opportunities for local Australian fleets in the urban and intra-city sectors to switch to battery-electric trucks,” says Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager.

“The Foton products have been adopted by diverse fleets such as Woolworths and, recently, Holcim, and it’s easy to see why – the Foton platforms can readily support many applications, including van bodies, tippers, and concrete agitators.”

For Foton, the opportunity to showcase its range of electric trucks at TruckShowX is an exciting one.

“We can’t wait for May 13-14 to roll around and for TruckShowX to launch, it’s a fantastic concept for the transport industry. Here at Foton, we are proud to be at the forefront of the switch to an emissions-free future, with the Foton T5 EV shooting to the top of the all-electric sales race in 2023,” Gillespie says.

“From our communications within the industry, we know there is a growing understanding of the importance of this new technology, and the many advantages that stem from moving away from diesel. The technology is proven to perform in the field, and at TruckShowX, we hope that fleets will get to sample the vehicles first-hand and experience the difference.”

TruckShowX ‘Drive Day’ opportunities will take place on the incredible coastal roads adjacent to RACV Cape Schank, which is the event’s spectacular venue.

Alongside the driving opportunities, the two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in low- and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the LZEV and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.
