Leading figures from Climateworks and Swinburne University will share unique insights into the latest freight decarbonisation research and real-world projects currently in motion with local trucking fleets and OEMs at TruckShowX 2024, Australia’s largest-ever transport decarbonisation event.

Helen Rowe, Transport Leader at Climateworks Centre – a non-profit organisation that develops independent, evidence-based solutions to assist the transition to net-zero emissions across Australia, will present on the centre’s latest transport modelling and decarbonisation research.

She will be joined in the research session by Hadi Ghaderi, Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology and Leader of the Swinburne Supply Chain Decarbonisation Initiative. He will present on several freight industry decarbonisation projects underway with local trucking fleets and OEMs.

“As a university, we are proud to participate in this significant event and to present our capability in the freight decarbonisation,” Ghaderi says.

“TruckShowX is a unique opportunity for all range of stakeholders to come together and jointly address some of the sustainability and technological challenges the transport industry is facing.”

Ghaderi and Rowe, pictured below, join a jam-packed TruckShowX program featuring key policy makers and regulators, future fuels and charging infrastructure experts, leaders in low- and zero-emissions vehicle (LZEV) adoption, and cutting-edge equipment suppliers.

HVIA Chief Advocacy Officer Dr Adele Lausberg says the event seeks to cover the entire interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for transport decarbonisation to work.

“To that end, we’re very pleased to have speakers from Climateworks and Swinburne University in the program, who will speak about their decarbonisation research and what it means for overcoming local barriers,” she adds.

A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, the two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.

TruckShowX will be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria. For more information– including early bird registration, click here. Early bird pricing ends Friday, March 29, 2024.

TruckShowX is supported by Research Partner National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), Industry Partner NatRoad, Gold Sponsors NTI, Caltex and Hyzon, Charity Partner Healthy Heads Trucks & Sheds, and Media Partner ROADBOSS.
