Chevron Australia Downstream’s Fuels and Lubricants Manager David Sawyer will draw on the company’s operations spanning 180 countries to share his insights into the future of fuel in Australia, where the company operates the iconic Caltex network.

“David Sawyer is set to provide a fantastic keynote for TruckShowX,” HVIA’s Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager Adam Ritzinger says.

“Our industry is incredibly innovative and forward thinking, but it is also steadfastly realistic. With that in mind, we understand that the transition will be complex, multi-faceted, and span several decades. Few understand the challenges and opportunities involved in this transition quite like Chevron.”

Sawyer, who previously oversaw the company’s east coast retail network comprising more than 130 service station sites across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, says “Chevron believes the future of energy is lower carbon”.

“I am looking forward to sharing global lessons to offer a perspective on how the Australian transport sector could transition to lower-carbon solutions in a timely, efficient and affordable way,” he says.

“At Caltex, we also speak to our customers, business partners and policy makers every day to understand how the emerging trends could shape the Australian fuels and lubricants market of the future.”

A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.

To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, the two-day event will explore low and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.

The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.

TruckShowX is supported by Research Partner National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), Industry Partner NatRoad, Gold Sponsors NTI, Caltex and Hyzon, Networking Events Partners Geotab, NewVolt and the Container Transport Alliance Australia, Charity Partner Healthy Heads Trucks & Sheds, and Media Partner ROADBOSS.
