In a critical session not to be missed, ANZ Bank will spotlight emissions reporting and finance considerations for decarbonisation in transport at TruckShowX 2026.
The recent shift of emissions reporting obligations from voluntary to mandatory has caused concerns in the transport sector, as many businesses grapple with new and complex technical areas that may not have previously been on their radar.
At the end of 2024, the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Bill 2024 passed Parliament, marking the introduction of mandatory climate-related reporting for Australian entities from January 1, 2025.
Whilst it initially only applied to large entities, it is being progressively rolled out to smaller businesses.
Specifically, ‘Group 2’ businesses will be impacted this year, as they will be required to report from July 1, 2026. That group includes companies that meet at least two of the following three thresholds: $200 million+ consolidated revenue for the financial year; $500 million+ consolidated gross assets at EOFY; and 250+ full-time equivalent employees at EOFY. ‘Group 3’ will follow from July 1, 2027.
Cindy Arthur, Head of ESG, Business & Private Banking at ANZ Bank, will spotlight this topic at TruckShowX in 2026, and explain how the transport sector is impacted, and what businesses can do to navigate the new complexities of ESG reporting.
“As more reporting companies look to their transport partners for emissions information, operators who can provide credible, transparent carbon data and show progress on decarbonisation could be better placed to win and retain contracts,” she says.
If you’re in the trucking game, you can’t afford to miss the follow-up to 2024’s ground-breaking TruckShowX. The 2026 program will showcase the latest in trucking and transport decarbonisation, and how Australian fleets are improving their bottom line through innovation and technology that improves productivity, efficiency and safety.
To be held on May 18-19 2026 at Rydges Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, the program will also include an expo showcasing technology, equipment and services across a range of new areas, a unique ‘Drive Day’ opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers, and for the first time, a trailer display.
The program is available here, and tickets can be purchased here.
