Global fleet electrification specialist Zenobē will share with TruckShowX 2026 delegates the story behind Australia’s first off-site truck charging hub which recently opened in Sydney.

The hub – which received $8.5 million from ARENA’s Driving the Nation Fund – will power the rollout of commercial EVs in the heart of Mascot. It will be the charging point for Woolworths’ new electric fleet, for which Zenobē is also leasing the electric trucks – minimising the capital expenditure that would otherwise have been needed to deploy the fleet.

This “all-in” arrangement providing access to electric trucks and charging infrastructure is known as “Electric Vehicle as a Service”, or “EVaaS”.

Zenobē has wide experience in deploying this model and taking on the investment risk for bus, truck and fleet companies around the world.

The charging hub will be open to other businesses in the Mascot area seeking access to charging infrastructure for their new EV fleets, making the hub a multi-user facility.

Gareth Ridge, Zenobē Country Director for Australia and New Zealand, says: “This project will create a blueprint for how fleets can access shared charging infrastructure without needing to invest in their own sites. It will set a new standard for truck fleet electrification in the region and the wider industry.”

HVIA Chief Technical Officer Adam Ritzinger has been keenly following the development of truck charging facilities in Australia. “The opening of Zenobē’s facility should be absolutely celebrated as a key milestone in Australia’s truck decarbonisation transition. It will be the first of many public and private truck charging hubs that will follow across the nation.”

“Having the people from the businesses that made it happen at TruckShowX will be hugely impactful for attendees,” he adds.

Scheduled for May 18-19, 2026 at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, TruckShowX 2026 will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from the industry’s prime movers how businesses are transforming through innovation and technology, via real-world case studies focusing on transport productivity, efficiency and safety.

Complementing the program will be an expo showcasing technology, equipment and services across a range of new areas, and uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers – and for the first time, a trailer display.

The program is available here and tickets can be purchased here.
