At TruckShowX 2026 New Energy Transport and Multiquip will share exclusive insights into their unique partnership that involved the longest single-charge electric truck delivery ever conducted in Australia.

New Energy Transport is an Australian first – a new type of trucking company, operating a fleet of fully electric prime movers powered by wholesale renewable energy. Supported by a vertically-integrated business model, it offers the opportunity to outperform diesel-based freight on both sustainability and cost.

In October 2025, New Energy Transport teamed up with Multiquip, Australia’s leading service provider to the poultry industry, to complete the longest single-charge electric truck delivery ever conducted in Australia.

The delivery involved a 36-tonne combination on a 480km round-trip within New South Wales, starting loaded at Multiquip’s site in Picton, travelling to Beresfield, and returning empty.

Impressively, the trip was completed with zero exhaust emissions, and with a 12 per cent reduction in total trip time, due to the ability of the electric prime mover to maintain highway speeds while travelling uphill.

“There’s a lot of possibilities coming with electrification and we’re excited about what is to come,” New Energy Transport Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Fredrik Pehrsson, says.

“Our vision is based on also being able to deliver our own charging infrastructure, which is why New Energy Transport is also securing this in the back end of our operation. So we’re building our own charging infrastructure to support our own electric heavy prime movers for our customers.”

That level of innovative thinking is mirrored by Multiquip, according to National Compliance Manager David Muir.

“We’re always looking at different ways of improving our operations. So, with the opportunity to do something like this with an electric vehicle, as opposed to traditional diesels, it gives us a chance to see how it performs and how it would actually integrate into our business,” he says.

The session at TruckShowX will include both New Energy Transport and Multiquip sharing the stage and jointly unpacking this milestone in zero emissions freight transport in Australia.

If you’re in the trucking game you can’t afford to miss the follow-up to 2024’s ground-breaking TruckShowX. The 2026 program will showcase the latest in trucking and transport decarbonisation, and how Australian fleets are improving their bottom line through innovation and technology that improves productivity, efficiency and safety.

To be held on May 18-19 2026 at Rydges Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, the program will include an expo showcasing technology, equipment, and services across a range of new areas, a uniquely ‘Drive Day’ opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers, and for the first time, a trailer display.

The program is available here, and tickets can be purchased here.
