Logistics and parcels delivery giant Team Global Express will share its operational experience two years into its ‘Depot of the Future’ at TruckShowX 2026 to be held on May 18-19.
TGE is among arguably the biggest line-up of leading Australian trucking operators ever assembled to share first-hand how they are embracing the latest innovations, technologies and processes to reduce operating costs, boost productivity, and cut emissions.
Team Global Express (TGE) officially unveiled its ‘Depot of the Future’ in Bungarribee, Western Sydney, on March 14, 2024, just over two years ago to the day.
The project saw TGE partner with funding provider ARENA to replace a third of its Western Sydney fleet with a total of 60 electric trucks, delivering parcels to customers around the metropolitan Sydney area.
Two years into the project, TGE Director of Sustainability and HVIA Board Member Heather Bone is keen to share operation experience with delegates in the ‘Emission Impossible?’ session at TruckShowX 2026.
“At the time it was the largest purchase of electric trucks anywhere in the world, and it is still up there,” Heather says. “Looking back now, it was a very early adoption of electric trucks which has really helped to drive change in the industry.”
Heather’s session will cover a wide range of operational considerations and how TGE has refined the site’s operations, including driver scheduling, training, grid energy usage vs battery usage, truck charging times during the day/night, and telematics.
“Every day there is something new we didn’t expect but really the challenges we have now are about making sure the trucks and charges are optimised and we are not paying a fortune for our energy at peak load time,” Heather adds.
“Overall though, we’re really excited to be sharing our learnings with industry for the benefit of the entire sector.”
If you’re in the trucking game you can’t afford to miss the follow-up to 2024’s ground-breaking TruckShowX. The 2026 program will showcase the latest in trucking and transport decarbonisation, and how Australian fleets are improving their bottom line through innovation and technology that improves productivity, efficiency, and safety.
To be held on May 18-19, 2026 at Rydges Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, the program will also include an expo showcasing technology, equipment, and services across a range of new areas, and uniquely, the ‘Drive Day’ opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers, and for the first time, a trailer display.
The program is available here and tickets can be purchased here.
