HVIA has released the official program for TruckShowX featuring a jam-packed line-up of key policy makers and regulators, future fuels and charging infrastructure experts, leaders in low- and zero-emissions vehicle (LZEV) adoption, and cutting-edge equipment suppliers.

Leading the charge will be keynote presentations from senior government officials shaping Australia’s zero-emissions policies and regulations, including Ian Porter, Strategic Advisor for Net Zero with the Federal Department of Infrastructure and Transport (Read more here), and Melisssa O’Brien, Manager of Freight Policy and Strategy at Freight Victoria  (Read more here).

Experts will also present the latest research on transport modelling and decarbonisation, including National Transport Research Organisation’s Daniel Ainalis, Climateworks’ Helen Rowe, Swinburne University/iMove’s Associate Professor Hadi Ghaderi, and Mov3ment’s Mark Gjerek.

What’s more, global leaders will deliver insights into the future of transport fuels and energy, from renewable diesel to hydrogen and batteries, as well as trends in battery storage and charging infrastructure, namely NewVolt’s Anthony Headlam (Read more here), Siemens’ Olivia Laskowski, Zenobe’s Gareth Ridge, and Kempower’s Dylan Perera.

Complementing this will be a series of case studies that explore the projects, people, and technology being implemented to decarbonise freight in Australia.

TruckShowX speakers will deliver insights into the future of transport fuels and energy, from renewable diesel to hydrogen and batteries, as well as trends in battery storage and charging infrastructure

These real-life case studies will include Team Global Express’s Heather Bone and JET Charge’s Alex Bowler talking depot electrification (Read more here); Hyzon’s John Edgley on the local trial of its hydrogen fuel cell-powered waste collection truck (Read more here); and Alex Kelly of IKEA on the homewares retailer’s rollout of EV’s for last-mile customer deliveries.

They’ll also be case studies on electric solutions for FMCG operations featuring Daimler Truck’s Romesh Rodrigo, hydrogen refuelling in remote mining applications featuring Daniel Krosch from Ark Energy, and BEV-powered airport refuelers at Brisbane Airport featuring EXRO Technologies’ (formerly SEA Electric) Glenn Walker.

And on the equipment front sessions will include a run down on EV’s suited to B2C operations from Foton’s Bill Gillespie, Revora’s Nathan Gore-Brown on next-generation battery-powered refrigerated trucks, plus a series of presentations on the trailers of the future from SAF-Holland’s Nemanja Miletic, Dana’s Matt James, Move EV’s Jamie Lodge, and Arends Trailers’ Dean Panos.

More speakers will join those already announced in the sessions and case studies in the coming weeks and months.

A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.

Team Global Express’s Heather Bone will be among a series of case studies that explore the projects, people, and technology being implemented to decarbonise freight in Australia

To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, it will explore LZEV’s and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.

The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.
