Battery-electric truck market leader Volvo Trucks Australia has joined the TruckShowX 2026 program both as a session speaker and exhibitor.
Volvo Group’s leadership in the race to decarbonise the transport sector was front and centre in Brisbane at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, and will be unpacked and explored in real-world case studies with Australian fleets at the highly-anticipated upcoming event.
Through an impressive range of technologies, Volvo Group Australia is aiming to provide real-world low-emissions and eventually fossil-free solutions across all three of its heavy vehicle brands, including Volvo, Mack and UD Trucks.
Volvo Trucks will participate in TruckShowX with Shayne Commons, Director – Product Strategy & Driver Development as a speaker, as well as showcasing a Volvo FH heavy haulage truck and trailer combination.
“Australia’s economy relies on the freight industry to deliver goods around the nation, and with an estimated 40 per cent freight increase within the next 15 years, decarbonising the trucking industry is a key part of the journey to net zero.
“Volvo Trucks takes a multi-pronged approach to reducing transport emissions, electro-mobility is just one of those solutions, and we will continue to partner with industry operators to determine the best solutions to support decarbonation together,” he says.
In late 2025, Volvo unveiled the “Electric Ready Lease”, an innovative finance package backed by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) that reduces the residual value on an operating lease and helps lower the barriers to entry for transport business considering electric.
“With nearly 120 electric Volvos on the road, this technology is continuing to gain momentum and now it’s even easier to consider electric with this new funding available. We encourage operators attending TruckShowX to use this opportunity to discuss these various options with our team,” adds Tom Chapman, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Volvo Trucks Australia.
Scheduled for May 18-19, 2026 at Rydges Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, TruckShowX 2026 – a spin-off the Brisbane Truck Show – will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from the industry’s prime movers how businesses are transforming through innovation and technology, via real-world case studies focusing on transport productivity, efficiency and safety.
Complementing the conference program will be an expo showcasing technology, equipment and services across a range of new areas, and uniquely, the drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers, and for the first time, a trailer display.
“Volvo’s leadership in decarbonisation, safety, and efficiency are a great match for the ‘Driving The Future’ theme for TruckShowX 2026, and it’s incredibly encouraging to have them on-board again as speakers and exhibitors,” Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX program manager, says.
