WHG – a leading Australian provider of connected vehicle technologies, delivering advanced telematics, regulatory compliance solutions, and AI-enabled driver safety systems – will showcase its smart-wearable-based fatigue platform FleetPREDICT at TruckShowX 2026.

The company is accelerating innovation in artificial intelligence through its wearable safety technology designed specifically for heavy vehicle drivers and fleet operators.

WHG’s FleetPREDICT technology is a smart-wearable-based fatigue platform, developed in collaboration with Garmin and Sleep Advice Technologies. Unlike traditional camera-based monitoring, FleetPREDICT offers a predictive, non-invasive alternative, using biometric data to issue early alerts before fatigue or impairment becomes a risk.

The technology was recently selected for funding in Round 10 of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI) grant program. With the funding, WHG will deliver a real-world trial of FleetPREDICT in partnership with national freight carriers, who will jointly present on the project and provide and update on findings in the AI-themed ‘TruckGPT’ conference session at TruckShowX in 2026.

Evidence collected during the trial will inform new industry guidelines and educational resources to encourage broader adoption of fatigue management wearables across the freight and logistics sector.

HVIA Chief Technical Officer Adam Ritzinger has closely followed the development of this technology since it was a finalist in HVIA’s safety innovation award category in 2024 and is excited about what it can bring to the industry.

“I think we’re only just starting to scratch the surface of what artificial intelligence can do in our sector, and I’m incredibly pleased that we can showcase these crucial developments, in partnerships with fleets, at TruckShowX in 2026,” he says.

WHG’s Director of Operations Dylan Hartley (pictured) is strongly committed to advancing safety through the strategic integration of connected technologies.

“Fatigue remains one of the most complex safety challenges in road transport. Over the past few years, WHG has focused on rethinking how fatigue can be detected and prevented in a way that genuinely supports drivers, shifting fatigue management from something reactive to something truly predictive,” he says.

“FleetPREDICT gives drivers a science-backed early-warning tool without cameras or invasive monitoring, and the HVSI project allows us to demonstrate at scale what this technology can deliver for the industry.

“With advances in AI, wearable technology and connected platforms, we’re at an exciting crossroads where these innovations converge to prevent fatigue before it becomes a risk.

“WHG is proud to join this future-focussed event and to showcase our progress at TruckShowX in 2026,” he adds.

Scheduled for May 18-19, 2026 at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley in regional New South Wales, TruckShowX 2026 will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from the industry’s prime movers how businesses are transforming through innovation and technology, via real-world case studies focusing on transport productivity, efficiency and safety.

Complementing the program will be an expo showcasing technology, equipment and services across a range of new areas, and uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest truck models from leading manufacturers – and, for the first time, a trailer display.

The program is available here and tickets can be purchased here.

TruckShowX 2026, presented by HVIA and Brisbane Truck Show, is supported by Major Sponsor NTI, Strategic Sponsors NSW Government and Destination NSW, Local Government Sponsor Cessnock City Council, Gold Sponsors Geotab and Wurth, Silver Sponsors VE Motion and Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), Charity Partner Healthy Heads Trucks & Sheds, and Media Partners ROADBOSS and Fleet News Group.
